Tolon: NDC accuses NPP for awarding leadership positions to JHS Leavers

The 2020 National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Tolon Constituency, Adam Yussif Naanyama, said the NDC next administration will offer opportunities to party members without formal education to head some institutions and agencies within the Tolon District.

According to him, the current NPP government had awarded leadership positions to Junior High School (JHS) certificate holders to manage some institutions and agencies within the constituency, hence the utterances.

Yussif Naanyama sited that, the current Tolon District Youth Employment coordinator also a Youth Organizer of the NPP in the constituency, had without qualification, but he had been recruited by NPP led Nana Addo government to manage the Youth Employment Agency in the district.

“The current Youth Employment coordinator for Tolon District is the Youth Organizer of the NPP in the constituency who had not gone beyond Senior High School (SHS) and he is the person of Kobshiiyi”.

Meanwhile, the minimum qualification under youth employment Act for District Youth Employment Agency coordinator is a first degree”, he said.

He also pointed that, the Northern Regional NADMO coordinator Alhaji Hindu Abdulai had without certificate, but he had been appointed to manage the affairs of National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) within the Region.

“If you asked the current Northern Regional NADMO coordinator he can’t point out his certificate”, he alleges.

The NDC 2020 parliamentary candidate for Tolon, made these allegations when the national executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) met party members at his constituency on Wednesday 18th January, 2022.

The leadership of NDC had been meeting the party leadership within the Northern Region ahead of its internal elections and preparation towards the 2024 general elections.

Speaking exclusively to, Yussif Naanyama narrated that, “if you come to my constituency, we have people without formal education and they are in the employment list of NABCo”.

This is the complaint we have been receiving from our members in the constituency, and also our investigation shows that, NPP has recruited people who have not had any formal education into some government agencies within the district and they are still taken salary. This is the strategy they used and had a huge margin in the last general elections”, he said.

Adam Naanyama claimed that, all the infrastructural development including the provision of Senior High Schools, district hospital, water, electricity, among others within the Tolon District, were provided by the past NDC administration.
“We care about development for all, but when NPP is in power what they care about is providing money for their members”, he said.
