Tamale North MP donates items to support schools in his constituency
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale North constituency, Honorable Alhassan Suhuyini, under the auspices of the Books for Africa and Qatar Charity Organization, has handed over items worth over millions of GH¢ to some selected schools within his constituency.
The items donated includes two hundred (200) modernized study desks, 53, 000 Books, comprising Medical/Health Books, Information Technology IT Books, Science Books, Arts and Literature Books, 7 desktop computers, medical equipment, 6, 000 solar lamps among others.
The donation of the items aims at improving quality education within the constituency.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Mr Suhuyini, expressed his gratitude to the Qatar Charity Organization and Books for Africa for their support.
He explained that the people within his constituency deserve quality education hence his motivation to donate the items.
The Tamale North constituency lawmaker in his remarks also highlighted some of the developmental projects he initiated and executed including construction of health centers across the constituency, support artisans with working tools, provision of drinking water, financial support to students, provision of dual desk to schools among others.
“I have done better than this current government,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the Sagnarigu Municipal Education Director, Mr. Malik A.A. Alhassan, commended the MP for the kind gesture.
He believes the donation would go a long way to improve teaching and learning in the schools.
In his remarks, Mr Iddrisu Musah Iddrisu who speaks on behalf of the Qatar Charity Organization, said his organization has built more health facilities within the country and Northern Region alone has taken 50% of their projects.
He thus assured the MP of their readiness to continue partnering with him to transform his constituency.
