Tamale North MP, Alhassan Suhuyini donates Hearse to constituents.

Member of Parliament for Tamale North constituency Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini has donated a community hearse to the Eastern corridor of the constituency.

Comprising of about nine villages, the communities used to carry the dead with either motor-kings or trucks to the cemetery.

The modern hearse came with a gas cylinder, a well-stocked first aid box and other medical accoutrements.

The vehicle with registration number GN 1638-20 is funded with the MPs’ share of the District Assembly common fund.

Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini who made the donation at a short ceremony in Taha said the hearse was in response to a request from the said communities for a motor king to help convey dead bodies to the cemetery.

He indicated that “I asked myself, if I come to Taha and the unfortunate (death) should happen to me, will I like to be conveyed in a motor-king or any of my relatives, and all the people here are my relatives so I decided to mobilize some resources to get a befitting hearse for my people”.

Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini thanked the Chiefs for their support and promised to continue to work at addressing the developmental challengers of his constituents in his bid to improve their living conditions.

He also admonished the people to practice social distancing, frequent handing washing under running water and the wearing of nose mask to help in the fight against the spread of the novel Coronavirus.

He called on the Chiefs and eligible voters in the area to make time to participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise to enable them vote out the “non-preforming” NPP government in the December 7 general elections. 

A former Assembly member for the Fou electoral area Mohammed Alidu who spoke on behalf of the Taha Chief commended the MP for his quick response to their demand.

He indicated that, leadership of the communities will meet to decide on the mode of operations of the hearse and also on how to ensure proper maintenance of the vehicle.

The Chief Imam for Taha also used the opportunity to sought Allah’s guidance for the Member of Parliament and all his endeavors to ensure constituency forges ahead.
