Tamale Central MP breaks the ground for Gumbihini Health Center Construction
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central Constituency, Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala through the Qatari Charity Organization, has cut sod for the construction of a Modern Health Center for the people of Gumbihini a suburb of Tamale Metropolis in the Northern Region.
The facility will have a male and female ward, a delivery room, reception, an outpatient department (OPD) consulting room, records among others.
The facility will also have a nurse’s accommodation facilities, a mechanized borehole, and a modern mosque.
The project is expected to be completed within four months, and would provide residents of Gubihini and its adjoining communities access to quality primary healthcare and solving the challenge of traveling long distances for basic healthcare services.
Addressing the residents at the sod cutting ceremony, the Tamale Central MP, expressed his gratitude to the Qatar Charity organization for their continued support towards providing quality health delivery to his constituents.
He also thanked the Chief of Gumbihini and his elders for making land available for the project.
He said the construction of the Gumbihini Health Center is the four in a series of health centres he collaborated with Qatar Charity organization and other partners to build across his constituency.
Comrade Murtala, while entreating the community members to own the project, also highlighted some of the developmental projects he initiated and executed within the three years he stayed in office. It includes construction of four (4) health centres, construction of 52 mechanized boreholes, construction of inner roads at Changli and Gumbihini, free extra classes for BECE candidates, provision of financial support to 32 medical students among others.
Speaking on behalf of the Tamale Metropolitan Health Director Mr Mutawakilu Fuseini, commended the MP for his consistent efforts towards bringing quality healthcare to his constituents.
