St. Joseph’s Health Centre in the Kalba-Damongo Diocese receives ambulance from MP for the area

The Member of Parliament for the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency Andrew Dari Chiwitey, has donated an ambulance fitted with some accessories to the St. Joseph’s Health Centre in the Kalba-Damongo Diocese of the Catholic Church.

The ambulance was to help promote emergency health care delivery as well as facilitate quality and accessible health care delivery in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region.

Mr Chiwitey, speaking at the presentation ceremony, said the ambulance was urgently needed and critical, considering the numerous challenges the health centre faced in the delivery of health care services in the area.

He advised the management of the health centre to take good care of the ambulance by regularly maintaining and servicing it, so as to prolong its life span and to enhance quality health care delivery.

The Deputy Chief Physician Assistant In-charge of the St. Joseph’s Health Centre in the Kalba-Damongo Diocese, Sobiitey George Kachiir, said the health facility was currently providing health care services to a population of about 41,000 people in 65 communities.

He said the ambulance would help reduce some of the challenges in the health centre as well as tackle its emergency cases much better to provide quality and accessible health care to the people.

The Savannah Regional Minister,  Salifu Adam Braimah, among other dignitaries graced the occasion.
