Son of late Tijaniyya leader, Ahmed Maikano Jallow, reportedly dies in the hands of armed robbers

Famous Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ali Ahmed Maikano AbulFaili Jallow is reported dead after being shot by armed robbers while in a sojourn.  

Shiekh Ali Maikano was a son of late Tijaniyya leader Ahmed Maikano Jallow, based at Prang in the Ahafo Region.

The robbery which led to his death occurred on Wednesday dawn on the Abromase road where the Tijaniya cleric and his entourage were headed for a Maulid as a Special Guest.

The Armed robbers reportedly, blocked the road, robbing travellers and opened fire in the process which caught Ali Maikano.

The deceased Islamic cleric was hailed as a peacemaker in the height of tensions between his late father Maikano Jallow and the Al-sunna sect, and later between the father and National Chief Imam Usman Nuhu Sharubutu of Fadama.

Ali Maikano had been expected to replace his father as Khalifa, but he opted to wait for his turn.

The successor of Maikano Jallow, was passed on to the eldest son Khalifa AbulFaili Maikano Jallow.

In the coming days, Prang in Ahafo Region will witness huge sympathizers to mourn their beloved Ali Maikano.

Meanwhile, Police have launched a manhunt for the robbers and has requested for help from the general public.
