Sheikh Al-Habib Adabiya call on Government to take bold steps to address Bawku conflicts
A renowned Islamic Cleric of the Tamale Metropolis in the Northern Region, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Habib Adabiya, has called on the government of Ghana to take a bold step to end the conflicts in Bawku.
According to him, the ongoing conflict and the killing of innocent people in the area, had called for government urgent steps to resolve the issue.
The Islamic Cleric made the call when he was delivering a sermon at the Masjidul – Salaam Mosque during a Friday congregational prayer in Tamale.
The sermon was titled “PEACE”.
Sheikh Al-Habib noted that the continued conflict in the area should be a grave concern to all. He indicated that aside from praying for the people in the area, it is also prudent for every Ghanaian to add their voices by calling on the government to address the matter.
“The situation in Bawku is very terrible,” he emphasize.
The leader of Masjidul-Salaam speaking on the topic, said peace is the ultimate tool to foster socio-economic development within the area.
He thus asked the people to channel their charisma towards fostering peace and unity among themselves.
He indicated that it is important for the people to look to the Qur’an’s teachings of peace and let peace prevail.
“They should look at the spirit of peace as established in our own language as Muslims and the greetings that we greet – As-salamu alaykum– peace be upon you,” he reminded.
Sheikh Al-Habib in his sermon also called on Muslims Ummah in the Northern Region to ensure incidents free before, during and after the upcoming general elections.
