Sagnarigu Paramount Chief gives Free SHS a thumps up

The Paramount chief of the Sagnarigu Traditional area, Naa Abdulai Yakubu has lauded the introduction of the free senior high school by government.

According to the Sagnari naa, this comes as a huge relief to parents who may have been struggling to cater for their needs, which most cases deprive the students from proceeding to the senior high schools.

Speaking to a cross section of constituents of the area at a political gathering during a visit by the vice president of Ghana Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to the area, Naa Abdulai Yakubu stated, that the introduction of the policy has been beneficial as he had been eased of the burden of paying for the fees of students.

The Sagnarigu chief also lauded the unique role of the vice president is playing in the digitization drive by the government, saying it is the right way to help improve productivity, development and resource generation.

He appealed to the government to facilitate the construction of some road projects in the Sagnarigu municipality.

The chief however, enjoined both politicians and party supporters to conduct themselves well before, during and after the polls.

Meanwhile, Dr. Bawumia who also addressed the crowd assured the Chiefs and people of Sagnarigu that the government had unique policies to improve the conditions of all, especially with the people of the area.

He lamented that, the area had for the past years been deprived essential development projects, despite its loyalty to the opposition NDC.

The NPP’s Parliamentary candidate, Felicia Tettey on her part pledged to fast track the development of the constituency to befit its status as a municipality.
