The Sagnarigu Municipal Football Association (SMFA) has sent a citation to Black Stars left back Baba Abdul Rahaman in appreciation for his support to clubs and the association in general.
Chairman of the SMFA Ibrahim Dawuda and executive committee members Coach Abdul Rahaman Abdallah and Alhaj Muniru Odongo (aka Alhaj Wowo) presented the citation to Baba Abdul Rahaman on behalf of the executive committee of the association at his residence in Malshegu, Tamale on Wednesday night. Also present was Media Committee Chairman Sey Mubarick.
The former Dreams FC player on Monday offered his support to football clubs at the grassroots level, as he donated some football equipment including 156 footballs, two sets of bibs and markers to all 52 clubs within the Tamale Metro and Sagnarigu Municipal FAs. He also donated GH₵1000 each to the two DFAs and the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) to support administrative work. In all, twenty-seven juvenile clubs from the SMFA benefitted from the donation.
Monday’s donation is not the first time Baba Abdul Rahman has made such donations as he did two seasons ago for his boyhood club Young Meteors and other Juvenile Clubs in Tamale.
Baba Abdul Rahman who spent the second-half of last season at Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki has promised to extend the gesture to as many clubs at the grassroots level to help them produce more talents for the country.
So in order to appreciate Baba for the gesture, the SMFA leadership presented a citation, portions of which read, “Thank you for your immense support.”
It also adds that, “How can we ever thank you enough for all you’ve done? We’re forever grateful. You helped us at the right time when we needed help most. If anyone deserves thanks, it’s you.”
Baba Abdul Rahaman for his part was equally grateful for the gesture.
