Sagnarigu MCE race; PWDs Urges President Mahama to appoint Adam Shiraz as MCE

Persons with Disability (PWDs) in the Sagnarigu Municipality of the Northern Region, have called on President John Dramani Mahama, to fulfill his campaign promise by considering appointing Mr. Adam Shiraz as Sagnarigu Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
They indicated that for the government to ensure inclusive governance, it is prudent for President John Mahama to endorse Mr Adam Shiraz as Sagnarigu MCE.
Briefing the media over the weekend, former President of Ghana Federation of Disability in the Sagnarigu Municipality, Mr Alhassan Ahmed Neendow, noted that persons with disability who had the opportunity to save both NDC and NPP administrations made a mark, hence the call.
He added that awarding their colleagues an opportunity would promote their empowerment and challenge societal stereotypes about disability.
Mr Alhassan while congratulating President John Mahama, also revealed that Mr Adam Shiraz who is a physically challenge person and a member of the PWDs union in the Sagnarigu Municipality played a vital role for the NDC in the Sagnarigu Constituency during the December 7 general elections.
“We are advocating that persons with disability who are also qualified should be included in the appointment of MMDCEs to give a true meaning of inclusive governance. One of such individuals is Mr Adam Shiraz. This gentleman has extremely worked hard for the NDC as a branch secretary, polling station agent, communicator among others,” he said.
