Resolve the insecurity in Wa/Bole – Concerned Chiefs of the North to government
The Concerned Chiefs of the North (CCN-Ghana) has appealed to government to take immediate and decisive action to address the security concerns in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region and Bole District in the Savannah Region.
“ We urge the government to take immediate and decisive action to address the security concerns in these regions and ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens“.
The group has also called on traditional authorities, religious leaders, and civil society organizations to join forces in condemning these heinous crimes and promote peace and unity in their communities.

The appeal comes on the back of serial killings in these regions with the last in Wa a couple of days ago.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the CCN-Ghana, Chief Naa Jamaah Mataraah and Co-coordinator of the CCN-Ghana, Chief Tandawura Alhaji Amin condemned these brutal acts of violence that have resulted in the loss of precious lives.
“The Concerned Chiefs of the North (CCN-Ghana) are deeply disturbed by the recent spate of targeted killings in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region and Bole District in the Savannah Region.”
The group expressed its condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims.
“We express our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and call on the security agencies to intensify their efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice”, the statement added.

The Concerned Chiefs of the North is a platform of chiefs from the five regions of the North who are working with other stakeholders for the development of the area.
Meanwhile, the Concerned Chiefs of the North-CCN-Ghana have praised the paramount chief of the Gonja Traditional area His Royal Majesty Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale [II] on his historic visit to the over Lord of Dagbon Yaa-Naa Mahama Abukari [II] of the Dagbon Kingdom.
“The Concerned Chiefs of the North-CCN-Ghana wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to His Royal Majesty Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale [II] of the Gonja Kingdom for his historic visit to His Royal Majesty Yaa-Naa Mahama Abukari [II] of the Dagbon Kingdom.” It said
This momentous occasion the group said marks a significant milestone in fostering unity, peace, and coexistence among the kingdoms of the Northern Regions.
It further commended the Yagbonwura for his wisdom and leadership in bridging the gap between the kingdoms and strengthening the bonds between the two kingdoms.
The group urged other kingdoms within the 5 Northern Regions to emulate this noble gesture in working together towards a united and harmonious Northern Ghana.
“We commend the Yagbonwura for his wisdom and leadership in bridging the gap between our kingdoms, strengthening the bonds of friendship and solidarity between our nations.
