public Private Partnership key to development of Tourism in Yendi – MCE

The Municipal Chief Executive for Yendi, Alhaji Ahmed Abubakar is proposing Public Private Partnership for the conversion of some potential tourist sites in the area into modern recreational centers.

According to him, despite being blessed with several tourist sites, yet the inability of the government to elevate these to modern centers of attraction is a worry to the assembly.

The Yendi municipality has sites including, the Adibo battle fields, German cemetery and the first ever Assemblies of God church in West-Africa, yet their current state leaves much to be desired.

Speaking to Diamond news in an exclusive interview, Alhaji Ahmed Abubakar said only a P-P-P arrangement could leverage these sites from their poor state. In addition these could generate revenue for the areas’ development and lead to job creation.

The Yendi MCE also stated that, the area had for a considerable amount of time enjoyed relative peace, hence the need for investors to consider doing businesses, particularly in the hospitality business.
