A 28 year old man met his untimely death when some yet-to-be identified person attacked him at his private residence at Kanfehiyili in the Kumbungu District.
According to eye witnesses the body of the deceased, identified only as Abdulai was left lying in a pool of blood with broken limps. The sticks believed to have been used to beat him were also left lying by the dead body at his private residence on Wednesday 10, March, 2021.
Confirming the incident to Diamond News, the Northern Regional Crime officer, Superintendent Bernard Baba Ananga, indicated that the unfortunate incident occurred following an earlier misunderstanding between the deceased and some other persons at the deceased’s late Mother’s final funeral rites performance on Tuesday 9, March 2021.
Supt Ananga said the police have since arrested three persons including the assemblyman of the area to assist with investigations.
According to the crime officer, the suspects fled the Kanfehiyili Community when the police visited the scene on Wednesday.
“Actually, what happened is that there was a fight between the deceased and some young men in the community yet to be identified on Tuesday 9th March 2021 and after the heavy argument they followed him to his house and beat him till he died,” Supt Ananga stated.
