Parents and wards flood various SHS campuses to for admissions, as double tract system takes effect

Fresh SHS Students accompanied by parents and parents on Tuesday 11th September, 2018, were in their numbers at the various Senior High Schools for in the Tamale and Sanarigu municipality to admission processes in the double track system.

423,134 students who have successfully made it under the 2018 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) have been placed in various secondary schools.

Over 400,000 students are expected to begin the double track system introduced by government which seeks to ease congestion in public senior high schools (SHSs), in the country.

Diamond News team visited the Northern School of Business, Tamale Senior High School among others, where parents and their wards were in long queues awaiting the school authority to attend to them. The process was calm at the Tamale Senior High School (TAMASCO), whiles at the Northern School of Business (NOBISCO), there was heavy argument among students over who should be served first.

Some parents who had traveled with their wards that gained admission at TAMSCO, expressed worry over the slow process of admissions. They also attribute the overcrowding at schools to insufficient information about the double track system. Some shared their frustration with Diamond News.

A student from Zebila who had gained admission at TAMASCO also shared his experience with Diamond NEWS.
