NWL: “I am fit and ready to fire again”- Barikisu Rahaman (Akitty)

After marking her Pearlpia Ladies return with a brace against Fabulous Ladies and Supreme Ladies, Barikisu Abdul Rahaman (Akitty) has spoken about getting herself back to full fitness ahead of a huge 2019/2020 for both club and country.

The Pearls no.4 was making her first start since the beginning of July 20l8 in the Normalization Special Competition against Fabulous Ladies in Kumasi, which Pearlpia Ladies won 3-0 thanks to her first half goals. Rasheda Shahadu was also on target.

She also grabbed her second consecutive brace in her second start of the season when Pearlpia Ladies won 3-0 at home against Supreme Ladies at the Tamale Utrecht Park.

Now, having worked hard with the medical staff and on the training field, the former Ghana Black Maidens striker is raring to go ahead of what could be the biggest year of her career, with Pearlpia Ladies competing for major honours and Ghana among the frontrunners for the 2020 African U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament.

“So happy to return to the field for another season. It feels great to be back after a long absence from injury. I am ready to maintain my full fitness to score more for my team Pearlpia Ladies and Ghana”, she said in an interview with Diamond FM.

Pearlpia Ladies FC travel to Sunyani on Saturday and it promises to be a fantastic occasion, with the Pearls on a 2-match winning run and having kept 2 clean sheets in a row.
