The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth groups in the various constituencies in the Northern Region have pledged their unflinching support for Alhaji Mumin Salifu C.O.P who is seeking to be a Northern Regional Youth Organizer of the party.
This was revealed after the youth thronged the residency of the chairman of Council of Elders, Alhaji MIMA at Fuo on Monday May 16, 2022 to pick nomination forms on behalf of Alhaji Mumin Salifu C.O.P popular known as ‘Jack Sparrow’.
According to the youth, that they decided to pick the forms for Alhaji Mumin Salifu C.O.P because they think that, he is the only one who can properly manage the affairs of the youth within the party in the region.
Convener of the group Sule Abdulai Saha, explained further that, “since yesterday, we haven’t had interaction or heard that, Alhaji Mumin have picked the forms. He’s been quiet. We identified him as a Savior of the youth of NPP in the Northern Region. So, we had sleepless night that, the one we have so much confident for, hasn’t picked the forms yet. And so, it became important that the youth wing of the party has decided to pick the forms on his behalf, and also mobilize an amount of Gh¢ 5,000 to enable him submit the forms on Tuesday.
Sule Abdulai indicated that, the incumbent NPP Northern Regional Youth Organizer, ‘Ghana’ Alhassan, has for the past four years failed the youth of the party hence, their decision to support Alhaji Mumin Salifu C.O.P.
“Of late the youth in the region hasn’t had a very competent leader who can move them, and as much as this party is concern, the party is build on the youth. The youth play a pivotal role on the success of the party”, he said.
The youth after picking the forms subsequently hand the money and the forms to Alhaji Mumin/Salifu C.O.P at his private residence at Naa Luro Estate in Tamale.
The Northern Regional NPP Youth Organizer hopeful Alhaji Mumin Salifu C.O.P after receiving the forms commended the youth for the gesture, saying he will work closely with the youth wing to redeemed the lost confidence among the NPP youth in the Northern Region.
Alhaji Mumin Salifu C.O.P is a Businessman and a leading contender for the Northern Regional Youth Organizer position, and he’s hoping to unseat the incumbent Youth Organizer ‘Ghana’ Alhassan whom he accused of performing abysmal.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) on May 15, 2022 opened nominations for aspirants interested in contesting for the various regional executive positions.
The nominations are due to be closed on Tuesday, and will be followed up by the vetting of aspirants from May 18 to 20, 2022. The hearing of appeals by the National Appeals Committee from will start from May 22 to 23, 2022, and the conduct of elections will be from May 27 to 29, 2022.
