NPP: That Conspiracy won’t bring peace in Yendi- Aspirants to Constituency Executives

Aspiring constituency executives and polling station executive aspirants of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) of the Yendi Constituency in the Northern Region are raising concerns over an alleged conspiracy by some executives to compile a new party album without following the due process.

Their concerns come as the party are in the process of concluding its polling station elections.

The aggrieved members want party leadership to intervene and address their concerns.

The aspirants at a press briefing on Monday 28th February, 2022, indicated that the party in the Yendi constituency had agreed to maintain the old polling station executives across all the 110 polling stations with the exception of the newly 37 polling stations within the constituency.

However, Mohammed A Kpermsin, a former Yendi constituency organizer, who is also an aspirant, addressing the media on behalf of his colleagues, indicated that despite the initial agreement by the committee to organize elections at the newly 37 polling stations in the constituency, the committee are yet to release the nomination forms for aspirants.

“We have become worry over their attitude because this is not what we have agreed on. We tried finding out from them what is going on but all did not avail”, he lamented.

“Our position is that they should stop holding elections at the newly 37 polling stations, because we will not allow any one to cheat on us. They should focus on the old 110 polling stations and build the album and leave the new polling stations alone if they really need peace within the party”, he warned.

The former Yendi constituency organizer, speaking on behalf of his colleagues however, warn the committee most especial its IT personnel to desist from adding any new name into the album or faced their wrath.

“We are sending this warning to the committee most especially the IT personnel to exhibit party interest first before any other interest. He should desist from manipulating the album. He should not allow any one to deceive him to that, else…”.

Mohammed A. Kpermsin while expressing their frustrations also called on the party hierarchy in Yendi to ensure there is peace and unity before they leave office.

“We are calling on the constituency secretary, chairman, youth organizer and the constituency treasurer; they are those who declared their intention not to contest the upcoming constituency elections. They should make sure there is be peace and unity before they handover to the upcoming executives”, he urged.
