The Northern Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mohammed Baantimah Samba, has placed a ban on all presidential aspirants of NPP from campaigning within the Northern Region.
This was contained in a press statement intercepted by Diamondfmonline.com. It also indicated that, “henceforth, all presidential aspirants are to desist from holding meetings to campaign to Polling Station Executives, Electoral Area Coordinators, Constituency Executives and Regional Executives in the Region
Chairman Samba while condemning the current development within the party in the region, also said “this unfortunate happening has the tendency of disrupting President Nana Akuffo Addo government and the peace within the party in the region”.
The NPP Northern Regional Chairman in the statement also urged the NPP Presidential aspirants to adhere to the National Council directives to desist from putting up signboards, banners and posters in the Northern Region.
“All presidential aspirants whose signboards and banners are displayed with or without their consent should immediately take steps to remove them or the party will remove them”, he warns.
He said the party regional executive committee will not hesitate to punish anyone who failed to comply with the directives.
“This caution will attract severe punishment as the Northern Regional Executive Committee will not countenance any activity by any aspirant which will disrupt and destabilize the peace and unity in the Party”, it stated.

CHAIRMAN SAMBA BANS CAMPAIGN ACTIVITIES BY PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANTS IN THE NORTHERN REGION
The attention of the Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mohammed A. Baantima (Chairman Samba) has been drawn to series of meetings between Presidential aspirants and Party executives in the Northern Region. This unfortunate happening has the tendency to disrupt H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s governance and the peace within the New Patriotic Party.
The Regional Chairman condemns this act and further instructs the following:
Henceforth, all Presidential aspirants are to desist from holding meetings to campaign to Polling station executives, Electoral area coordinators, Constituency executives and Regional executives in the Region.
That all Presidential aspirants adhere to the National Council’s directive to desist from putting up signboards, banners and posters in the Northern Region.
Furthermore, no t-shirts, brochures, souvenirs and pictures should be displayed in the Region.
All Presidential aspirants whose signboards and banners are displayed with or without their consent should immediately take steps to remove them or the party will remove them.
All media engagement for and on behalf of Presidential aspirants in the Region should cease.
Failure to adhere to this caution will attract severe punishment as the Northern Regional Executive Committee will not countenance any activity by any aspirant which will disrupt and destabilize the peace and unity in the Party.
I want to use this opportunity to urge all party members and Presidential aspirants to focus on assisting the President of the Republic H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in running the affairs of our nation and wait for the right time as indicated by the National Council to commence your campaigns.
