NPP: “Farouk Aliu Mahama thinks NPP belongs to his father”- NPP Chairman fumes

The Yendi Constituency Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Abubakari Sadiq, popular known as Chairman Nam, has descended heavily at the member of parliament of the area, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama saying his attitude and actions is causing disunity within the party members in the area.

According to him, the Yendi legislator posture of late indicates that the party belongs to the Aliu Mahama’s.

“Sometimes, I don’t understand our MP. He acts as if, the party belongs to his father Alhaji Aliu Mahama”, he said.

“It’s your father’s property you should be holding on to. My grandfather was also a chairman; the first chairman for NPP in the Yendi constituency, and I am the fourth chairman an elected chairman. He should stop that attitude and let us unite the party”, he burst out.

Chairman Nam, made these comments on Diamond Power Drive on Thursday March 3, 2022 with Mohammed Ibn Abdallah, when he was commenting on the planned demonstration by some aspirants within the Yendi constituency.

Diamondfmonline.com has learnt that some aspirants within the Yendi constituency are planning to stage a demonstration against the executive committee, over their inability to release polling stations nomination forms of the newly 37 polling stations within the Yendi constituency.

It will be recalled that Diamondfmonline.com on March 2, 2022 reported that, aspiring constituency executives and polling station executive aspirants of the (NPP) of the Yendi Constituency, are raising concerns over an alleged conspiracy by some executives to compile a new party album in the area.

The aspirants at a press briefing on Monday 28th February, 2022, indicated that the party in the Yendi constituency had agreed to maintain the old polling station executives across all the 110 polling stations with the exception of the newly 37 polling stations within the constituency.

However, they said, despite the initial agreement by the committee to organize elections at the newly 37 polling stations in the constituency, the committee had failed to release the nomination forms for aspirants, and this many party members believe had caused tension within the party of the area.

Meanwhile, Chairman Nam commenting on the matter said his outfit and other executive committee members received only 110 polling stations forms instead of the 147 polling station forms from the MP.

“The forms I know the MP brought is the 110 polling station forms. The other 37 polling station forms are nowhere to be found up till now, and the forms were given by Regional to the MP, and not me. What do you want me to do? I can’t ask them not to demonstrate. It’s left with them to decide, because these are the facts I have just given to you”, he stated.
