Northern Region NPP chairman confirms given Gh₵200,000 to an aspirant to allow Dr Amin Anta go unopposed

Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mohammed Bantima Samba has confirmed given Gh₵200,000 to one of the key aspirants in the Karaga constituency to step down to make way for Deputy Minister of Energy Dr Mohammed Amin Adam Anta to go unopposed.

According to him, Dr Mohammed Amin Anta would be a better candidate to win the seat for the NPP in the region hence, the move to lure Dr Baba Sayuti with the huge sum of money to take care of the expenses he incurred during his campaign.

Chairman Samba confirms he sent his brother with a cheque to withdraw the money from the bank to facilitate the move.

He indicated that Dr Sayuti took the money and was still campaigning to the amusement of him (Chairman Samba). Chairman Samba said he asked Dr Anta’s competitor to refund the money which he did, by returning Gh₵180,000.

The Northern Regional chairman of the NPP stated his confidence of winning 15 seats for the party in the 2020 general elections.

Chairman Samba made the revelation in an interview with Diamond FM’s Abdulai Abdul Gafaru during their live coverage of the NPP Parliamentary Primaries in the Northern Region. More soon…
