Northern Ladies vs Pearlpia Ladies. Will it be a Repeat or Revenge?

As the preliminary stage of the Women’s Normalisation Competition gets to an end, Northern Ladies will hope to complete a double over their arch rivals Pearlpia Ladies when they both clash at the Alhaji Aliu Mahama Sports stadium on Wednesday.

Both sides goes into the match hoping to get the bragging rights as the results would have no impact on the two clubs in terms of qualifying to the next stage of the competition.

The two teams have come under a severe scrutiny in their recent poor display, but may used Wednesday match to correct that impression and also give more playing opportunities to their players who have featured less in the competition.

Northern Ladies beat Pearlpia Ladies in the first round by 2-0 and may be hoping to have a double over them in today’s encounter.

Northern Ladies are third on the table in Group B with 5 points, whereas Pearlpia Ladies occupies the bottom with 4 points.

Ampem Darkoa leads the table with 9 points and Prisons Ladies are second with 8 points.

Even if Northern Ladies should win against Pearlpia on Wednesday and Prisons loses in their match versus Ampem Darkoa at the Valley View University park, it will still not guarantee Northern Ladies qualification to the next round since Prisons Ladies have a better head to head record over them.

They drew 2-2 in Tamale and beat the BANUMA Top 4 Champions 3-0 in Sunyani last week,

Ampem Darkoa will host Prisons Ladies in the other Group B game to determine who tops the table going into the next round of the competition.
