NORSAAC donates items in support of Diamond Damba Festival 2026
Norsaac have donated items in support of this year’s edition of the Diamond Damba Festival 2026. The donation took place at the Norsaac head office at Shishegu Residential Area last Wednesday, 26th August 2026.
In an earlier engagement with representatives of Diamond FM ahead the donation, Executive Director of Norsaac Alhaj Mohammed Awal Alhassan commended the station for the initiative to support maternal and child mortality through the blood donation component of the Diamond Damba Festival activities which he said is in line with what Norsaac also does. He again mentioned support for vulnerable people such as widows, orphans and other physically challenged as one other key area Norsaac associates a lot with and said this has been the reason why Norsaac has been a part of the Diamond Damba Festival initiative over the years.
Alhaj Mohammed Awal Alhassan also implored Diamond FM to continuously engage with Norsaac in areas such as initiatives related to the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) sector, educational development, health and sanitation issues as well as general national developmental drives, saying his outfit is always available any time the need be. He also said Norsaac was privileged to be drafted as part of the constitutional review process committee representing the NGO and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) sector.
The donated items included: 2 boxes of 300sachet Milo, 10 cartons of Malta Guiness, 5 cartons of Milk and 10 packs of bottled mineral water.
Receiving the items on behalf of Diamond FM, general manager Mohammed Ibn Abdallah thanked Norsaac for the donation indicating that this has always been the same support Norsaac has given to the Diamond Damba Festival for the past years as the event enters its ninth year in 2026.
Diamond Damba Festival (DDF) is an initiative of Diamond FM which started 9 years ago. The DDF lines up several activities each year to commemorate the annual traditional Damba festival celebrated by the chiefs and people of the Northern part of Ghana.
It started with blood donation exercise to our major hospitals but has since included other beneficial activities like health insurance registration and renewal for the vulnerable, food and consumables donation to windows and orphans, and this year will include free National Identification Authority (NIA) Ghana Card registration and birth registration by the Birth and Deaths Registry regional office for the vulnerable.
