NDC Congratulates Prof. Alidu Seidu Mahama on Election Victory
The Northern Regional Secretariat of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has congratulated Prof. Alidu Seidu Mahama on his resounding victory in the Tamale Central parliamentary primaries.
The elections, supervised by the party’s Elections and IT Directorate in the Northern Region, saw Prof. Seidu polled 840 votes out of the total valid ballots cast.
His closest contender, Lawyer Abdul Hanan Gundadow, secured 536 votes.
The other aspirants could not make significant gains, with Dr. Seidu Fiter obtaining 44 votes, Aliu Abdul-Hamid 23 votes, and the rest recording fewer than 10 votes each.
In all, 1,500 ballots were cast, with 6 ballots rejected and 7 spoilt ballots recorded.
The NDC in a statement signed and issued on Sunday September 7, 2025, by its Deputy Northern Regional Secretary Ziblim Saaka stated, “we express heartfelt appreciation to all aspirants who participated, showcasing their unwavering commitment to our party’s ideals and values”.
He commended the security personnel for their exemplary professionalism in ensuring a peaceful and incident-free election.
“We also commend the Electoral Commission for a job well done, upholding the integrity of the electoral process”, he added.
“Our profound gratitude goes to national, regional, constituency, and branch executives whose dedication and tireless efforts were instrumental to the success of the primaries”.
“To our esteemed media partners, we say Ayekoo for your objective coverage and professionalism”.
The statement further indicated that, “together, we reaffirm our commitment to our party’s mission, values, and pursuit of future victories.”
