The National Chief Imam of Ghana Dr. Sheikh Osman Nuhu Shaributu has made a personal contributed of GHC 50,000 towards the National Cathedral Project
He made the contribution on Thursday 26 August 2021 when members of the borad of trustee called on him at his Old Fadaama private residency in Accra, to congratulate him for the completion of the National Mosques Complex.
Vice President Bawumia recently stressed the need for the Cathedral, and urged all to help build it “for Ghana and for the glory of God.”
While speaking at the Adabraka Official Town branch of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on Sunday, 22 August 2021, he indicated that “As you all know, there are efforts to build a National Cathedral”.
“It is very important that we build the Cathedral. It is a voluntary exercise; anybody who wants to contribute can contribute. I have contributed, and I will contribute some more. So I encourage everybody to think about it and let’s build it. It is not for anybody. It is for Ghana and for the glory of God”, he added.
It will also be recalled that, Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta recently announced that an initiative dubbed “100-cedis-a-month club” will be launched to enable Ghanaians contribute to the construction of the National Cathedral.
He had argued that the initiative, dubbed, “Ketewa biara nsua”, will provide members of the general public an opportunity to share the cost and be part of a historical event, which is, the construction of a national cathedral.
Meanwhile some Ghanaians have criticized the initiative, whiles many others are kicking against the construction of the National Cathedral.
