Municipal Chief Executive for Nanumba North, Abdulai Yaquob has said the distribution of some 62 motor bikes to assembly members in the Municipality has come a as relieve to local government agents especially in revenue mobilization and enhancing of service delivery at the assembly.
Lamenting the assembly’s agony in revenue mobilization in the past, the MCE said the motor bikes would aid assembly members to intensifying tax education and enforcement of revenue mobilization by-laws adding that this in turn would enable the assemble rake in the need revenue for development.
Government through Local Government Ministry last week presented motors bikes to all the 62 assembly members of the Nanumba North municipality which is made up of 42 elected and 18 appointed assembly members.
Speaking to Diamond News in an exclusive interview at Bimbilla, the MCE, Abdulai Yaquob indicated that, the motor bikes will empower assembly members in their quest to finding lasting peace in the municipality since they are major stakeholders in peace building.
The Nanumba North Municipal Chief Executive also revealed that, 50 NABCO revenue Ghana employees have been posted to the municipality to assist in revenue mobilization process.
