Nanton MP Donates Advanced Ultrasound Scan Machine to Zoggu CHPS Compound

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Naton Constituency Dr Mohammed Sheriff Abdul Haliq, has fulfilled his promise to the Zoggu community by delivering an advanced ultra sound scan and printer to Community Health and Planning Services(CHPS) in the community.

The gesture is aimed at improving health care delivery most especially among pregnant women in the community.  

In a ceremony organized at the premises of the Zoggu CHPS compound to hand over the machine, Hon. Abdul Haliq disclosed his readiness to support the health care delivery of his constituents as the machine is not the only support he has offered the district or constituency.

“In the past, there was no single ultraSound machine for pregnant women within the district. All our pregnant women had to go to Tamale or Savelugu for such a service rendered to them. So, as part of plans we had last year, we made a donation of two ultra SoundScan machines- one to Nanton Health Centre, and the other one to Tampion Health Centre, and there was a promise we made to the people of Zoggu that we will also get them ultrasound machine to curb the suffering of pregnant women”, he said.

He stressed that his outfit is always ready and available to support them with all critical needs of the directorate.

The District Health Director, Dr Sheba Kunfah received the machine on behalf of the leaders of Zoggu CHPS compound and expressed their utmost appreciation to the Member of Parliament for such a gesture “but like Oliver Twist”, asked for more support.

Meanwhile, the MP after presenting the machine to Zoggu CHPS also announced to the chiefs and people of Nyeko and Jagun that his outfit has plans to construct six-unit classroom block and teachers’ bungalow for the people of Nyeko and three-unit classroom block at Jagun.
