Nanton GES Office in dire need of support

Authorities at the newly created Nantong District Directorate of Education have expressed fears that standards of education in the area may decline further, if steps are not taken to resource them, to effectively discharge their responsibilities.

According to the Deputy Director of Education in-charge of Manpower, Iddrisu Yakubu, transportation challenges for staff was negatively impacting on supervision within the various community schools.

He also said they operated in a temporary structure which lacks essential facilities to make it operational.

Iddrisu Yakubu, particularly mentioned that, they still had to use the Savelugu GES offices to undertake their administrative work, which he said, needed to be addressed.

The Member of Parliament for Nanton, Mohammed Hardi Tuferu, on his side, said as new District, such challenges were bound to happen. He added that nonetheless, plans were far advanced between the assembly and his office, to remedy the situation.
