N/R: MP for Tolon Alhaji Habib inspects ongoing electrification project in his constituency

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tolon Constituency, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, has on Friday July 8, 2022 inspected ongoing electrification project at some selected communities within his constituency.

The tour was intended to get first-hand information on the pace of work as well as listen and attend to the needs of the contractors on the various sites. The Tolon legislator after inspecting the project, commended the contractors for the work done so far.

“These are but few of the communities that are in the process of being connected to the national grid. They add to the long tally of communities which have already been connected under my stewardship. I am impressed about the work so far, the contractor has done well, I am just urging them to speed up the work so that they can finish it on schedule time”, he said.

It would be recalled that, the Member of Parliament who doubles as Majority Chief Whip in Parliament, through government flagship rural electrification program, rolled out an initiative to hook over 20 communities within his constituency to the national grid.

The communities include, Warivi, Kuruvuhiyayili, Kobilimahigu, Tali Botingli, Dalingbihi, Kaa, Munya, Gundu, Lungbung Yizegu, Jagriguyili, Apileyili, Tindang, Kapalnaayili, Aseyili, Adunbiliyili, Zantani, Gunsibong, Kukoonaayili, Kanshagu, Tolon Nafarig among others.

The move forms part of the MP efforts towards ensuring his constituency attain a 100% electricity coverage in the Northern Region.

The extension of electricity to the communities were in fulfilment of the MPs promise he made before winning the NPP primaries in the Tolon constituency.

The Tolon legislator as part of his efforts towards uplifting the face of his constituency has within one year in office, initiated series of developmental projects in all sectors. It includes construction of 21 boreholes to some selected communities, the completion of a 6 unit classroom block at Yoggu, extension of electricity to over 20 communities, provision of financial support to over 150 needy students, provision of scholarship to over 21 students for further studies, among others.
