The Member of Parliament for Karaga Constituency, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has extended electricity to four more communities in the Karaga District. The communities are; Namang, Binkoli, Naloli and Tambigu
Street lights were installed in all the beneficiary communities whilst over a thousand LED bulbs were distributed to the communities. The chiefs of the beneficiary communities also received 43 inch Television sets from the MP.
Addressing the chiefs and people at separate durbars, the Deputy Energy Minister indicated that extending electricity to the communities were in fulfillment of his campaign promise.
According to him, he has so far facilitated and hooked over 48 communities unto the national grid in less than a year and “this is unprecedented,” he stated.
“The trend of politics in karaga has changed, the people need development and that is what I am doing. I am not a type of MP who will only remember his people during election periods with Akpeteshie. My Akpeteshie is to provide electricity and potable water for my people” he added.
Dr Amin Anta indicated that, connecting the communities to the national grid would pave way for many developmental projects to be established alongside hopes of improving academic performance and socio economic activities among the communities.
The MP advised the youth to take advantage by creating jobs that would improve on their livelihoods.
The chiefs and people of the beneficiary communities expressed gratitude to the MP, for fulfilling a campaign promise and assured him of their continued support.
“Even if I die today, I will have a story to tell my ancestors that I saw electricity in this community. I want to thank the MP and all who supported in getting us electricity,” One chief explained.
