MTN Ghana brought smiles to the faces of new mothers and their babies at Tamale Teaching Hospital and West Hospital in Tamale with a special Yuletide gesture.

The telecom giant presented hampers to the new mothers on Christmas Day, a tradition they’ve maintained annually.

MTN Ghana’s Mohammed Shayahu, presenting the hampers, said, “This gesture is our way of giving back to society, especially to newborns and those who couldn’t spend the Yuletide with families back home.”

This year, MTN is donating 700 hampers nationwide, each containing baby care products, diapers, wipes, feeding materials, and other essentials.

“The donation makes a difference in the lives of mothers, especially the underprivileged, and the health staff during festive occasions,” said Madam Fauzia Adam, Midwife-in-charge at TTH labour ward.

For her part, Rahama Yakubu, Shift Midwife at Tamale West Hospital, thanked MTN for bringing smiles to the mothers and hoped that their challenges, like limited space, would be addressed by MTN and other benevolent groups.

The two hospitals received 30 hampers each. Beneficiary mothers thanked MTN for the gesture, relieving them of some Yuletide pressures.
