Mr. Mahama is the worse President ever in Ghana, Tolon MP

Deputy Majority Chief Whip of Parliament Alhaji Habib Iddrisu has described former President, John Dramani Mahama’s government as the worse performing government ever in the history of the Republic of Ghana.

According to him, the former President throughout his eight years in power, performed poorly across all sectors.

“John Mahama in the history of this country is the worst performing President ever. And because he knew he has no legacy to boast of, he wants to be a president again. He himself said he want to come back and correct the errors that he created, and Ghana Governance is not a try and error”, he stressed.

The Deputy Majority Chief Whip, who is also the Member of Parliament for Tolon Constituency, made these remarks during a recent interview on a sister station Radio Tamale.

The Tolon legislature was speaking on a wide range of issues including the controversial E-levy, happenings in Parliament in the year 2021 and many others.

Sharing his opinion on the likelihood that the former John Dramani Mahama will face off with Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia in the presidential election in 2024, Alhaji Habib said Mr. Mahama is no match for the Vice President.

He said the NPP under Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s leadership, will win over 56% of votes, if former President John Mahama will lead the NDC into the 2024 general elections.

Habib Iddrisu also indicated that, “if NDC make John Mahama as their flagbearer in 2024, and Dr Bawumia lead NPP, Dr will beat him over 56% of votes. Because he has ever been a president before, and so he will be judged based on that”, he explained.

Alhaji Habib Iddrisu while praising the Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, on his performance so far, however urged leadership of the NPP to channel their focus to the five (5) Regions of the North, saying “it is only these regions the party had potential of recapturing their lost seats”.

“If you look at the Ashanti Region, we have no potential of increasing seats unless we create more constituencies. The same thing in the Eastern Region. It is only the regions in the North we have the potential of recapturing our lost seats”, he further explained.
