 MP for Tolon, Habib Iddrisu connects 10 more communities to national grid

The Deputy Majority Chief Whip in Parliament, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu has hooked ten (10) more communities in the Tolon District of the Northern Region to the national grid.

The beneficiary communities include, KAA, MUNYA, GUNDU, WARIVI, TINDANG, APPLEYILI, JAGRIGUYILI, DALANBIHI and BONTINGLI KOBLIMAHIGU.

Street lights were installed in all the beneficiary communities.

Addressing the chiefs and people at separate durbars, the Tolon lawmaker, indicated that, the gesture was in fulfillment of his campaign promise before the 2020 general elections.

“The incidence of women walking long distances to mill their flour would come to an end” he added.

According him, his outfit in less than two years, had facilitated and hooked over 35 communities unto the national grid.

He reiterated his commitment towards ensuring Tolon Constituency attained 100% electricity coverage before 2024. “I am working closely with government to ensure all the communities without electricity in my constituency are connected onto the national grid before 2024″, he said.

Mr Habib Iddrisu also assured the people of his commitment towards addressing other developmental challenges within the Tolon District. “I am aware of other developmental challenges; hence I’m working towards that, he said.  

 He thus, thanked the chiefs and people of the beneficiary communities for their efforts towards making the project possible, and called on them to continue supporting him to enable him transform the area.

Meanwhile, the chiefs and people of the beneficiary communities who could not hide their happiness thanked the MP for the gesture and assured him of their continued support.
