The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kumbungu Constituency in the Northern Region, Professor Adam Hamza, on Saturday cut sod for the construction of nine projects across nine communities in the constituency.

The projects are initiatives of the MP and are funded through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).

The projects include the construction of a CHPS compound, Nurses Accommodation in Bogupaligu, CHPS Compound and Nurses Bungalow in Dulizugu, three-unit classroom block and other auxiliary facilities in Wuba, three-unit classroom block, stores and staff common room in Voggu Digu, 3-unit Classroom block and 3-unit classroom renovation in Jegbo, three-unit Classroom block in Voggu, Six-unit classroom block and other auxiliary facilities in Gbulung , 3-unit Classroom block in Kunkulung, three-unit classroom block in Kumbung Yipelinaayili.

Speaking before the sod-cutting, Prof Hamza Adam stated that the projects were a promise he made to the people during his campaign tour in the last general election. “Today, I have fulfilled my promise made to them during the 2024 general election,” he declared.

“We did indicate as a party we want to reset Ghana, and indeed Kumbungu constituency has been reset,” he added.

He said the CHPS compound projects, when completed, would provide essential healthcare services to the people of the beneficiary communities.

The MP highlighted that the school projects in the constituency were intended to facilitate teaching and learning in the beneficiary communities.

Emphasizing the commitment of the NDC government led by President John Dramani Mahama, Prof Adam Hamza stated that the party remained dedicated to developing rural communities across the country.

He thus urged the community members to own the project by providing the necessary support to the contractors.

Opinion leaders of the beneficiary communities thanked the MP for fulfilling his campaign promise.
