Kumbungu is missing in Parliament.

The name of Kumbungu got missing in Parliament since Dr Hamza Adam took over as Member of Parliament for the area, that’s according to Osman Deen, an aide to Ras Mubarak, who is a former Member of Parliament for Kumbungu.

According to Osman Deen, both former MPs for Kumbungu, Lawyer Mumuni and Ras Mubarak, made history in Ghana’s Parliament during their respective terms in office, but he said the current MP has failed to maintain the status quo.

While speaking on Diamond FM’s political talk show, SIISA SAHA, Osman Deen noted that, “we use to see our former MPs, Lawyer Mumuni and Ras Mubarak during their tenure as MPs, contributing and participating in debates on the floor of Parliament, and they were among the best MPs who always contribute on the floor”.

“And this always make us proud as citizens of Kumbungu, because their contribution if for nothing at all, sell the name of our beloved constituency across the country, but now, we cannot even locate our MP in the house because he is sitting at the back”, he lamented.

Osman Deen opined that, Dr Hamza Adam during the NDC primaries in the area made a pledge to vehemently advocate for the people of Kumbungu on the floor of Parliament if given the nod, but has since been missing on the floor ever since he was sworn in as MP.

He added that the MP’s inability to participate in debates on floor of Parliament is affecting the area negatively.

“An MPs presence in parliament is practically of no effect if he or she does not contribute to deliberations in the house and we can’t fine our Kumbungu seat in parliament because we don’t hear him speak during debates” he stressed.
