Karela United announces partnership with KGL Foundation

Ghana Premier League side Karela United have announced a new partnership with KGL Foundation.
The announcement was done on Sunday afternoon as the team’s communications department took to social media to break the news with the statement:
“Karela United is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with KGL Foundation, a leading unifier in Sports Development. This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in our club’s history and underscores our commitment to developing and growing our team.”
It added that: “We are delighted to welcome KGL Foundation to the Karela United family and look forward to working together to achieve great things.”
This was followed later by a press statement copied to Diamond FM Sports portions of which read; “In a bold move to further its commitment to youth empowerment and sports development, the KGL Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the larger KGL Group, has officially signed on as the primary sponsor of Karela United Football Club.”
The statement further said, “The partnership is geared towards supporting the overall management and operations of the club, ensuring its long-term sustainability and success both on and off the pitch.”
At a short ceremony in Accra for the signing of the agreement by both parties, the Chief Executive Officer of KGL Foundation, Mr. Elliot Dadey said; “We believe in the power of sports as a unifying force and a platform for nurturing young talent. Karela United FC has demonstrated immense potential in developing football in Ghana, and we are excited to be part of their journey. This sponsorship is not just about football; it’s about creating opportunities for the youth and fostering community development.”
For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Karela United FC, Dr. Adams Baba lauded the Foundation for its vision and timely intervention in accepting to enter into this partnership. Dr. Adams Baba stated that, “this partnership is a game-changer for us. The support from KGL Foundation will go a long way in helping us achieve our long-term goals, both on and off the pitch. It’s not just about football; it’s about building a legacy that impacts the youth and communities connected to the club.”
The sponsorship deal will last for two years.
In reaction to this development, the Communications Director of Karela United, Sey Mabarick speaking to Diamond FM Sports stated that, ” Well, I think it is a great opportunity to have KGL Foundation coming onboard to partner Karela United. Definitely, on our side we are very very grateful and we think that it has come at a very crucial time for us as we all know we have not actually been so good this season in the Ghana Premier League.”
Sey Mubarick went further to add that, “Financially, I think this is a morale booster for us. It definitely will help us to achieve our targets that we have set for ourselves. It is going to help us to be able to cement our position as one of the big clubs in Ghana football.”
The KGL Foundation is part of the Non-Profit Organization which is created as the corporate social responsibility arm of the KGL Group Limited. The KGL Foundation seeks to innovate the current system of philanthropy by engaging from the grassroots to government institutions, collaborating together to create sustainable and meaningful impact. Meanwhile, Karela United defeated TF Exponential 4-1 on Sunday in the MTN FA Cup match played at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale to advance to the round of 16 stage of the competition. Four goals from Najeeb Fuseini were enough to do the damage even as James Augustine got the consolation goal for the visitors.
