‘Jack Sparrow’ file nomination forms to contest Regional Youth Organizer position of NPP

An Aspiring Northern Regional Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Alhaji Mumin Salifu C.O.P, has filed his nomination forms to contest the upcoming NPP Regional Delegates Congress scheduled for May 28, 2022.

He presented his documents at the party regional head office amidst much jubilation by mammoth crowd of NPP youth activists who marched with him from his private office at Kanvilli to the party office at Aboabo.

It will be recalled that some youth groups at the various constituencies in the Northern Region on Monday May 16, 2022 thronged the residency of the Chairman of Council of Elders, Alhaji MIMA at Fuo and pick the nomination forms on behalf of Alhaji Mumin Salifu C.O.P popularly known as ‘Jack Sparrow’.

Addressing the media after filing his nomination forms, Alhaji Mumin Salfiu C.O.P, indicated that, he focus is not at the upcoming internal regional congress, rather his focus is on the 2024 general elections on how to help the NPP break the 8, “because the current Northern Regional Youth Organizer ‘Ghana’ Alhassan knows he has lost the election already”, he claimed.

“I am not thinking about the internal contest, we are ready to face the NDC and how to break the 8. This is where our thinking is. For the internal contest it’s done and dusted. The current youth organizer knows that, he is goner”, he stated.

“We still have a lot to do, and I will make sure that we hit the grounds, and let the NDC knows that, there is one young guy called ‘Jack Sparrow’ “, he stated.

The Regional Delegates Conference is scheduled on Saturday May 28, 2022.

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on May 15, 2022 opened nominations for aspirants interested in contesting for the various regional executive positions.

The nominations are closed on Tuesday May 17, 2022, and will be followed up with the vetting of aspirants from May 18 to 20, 2022.

The hearing of appeals by the National Appeals Committee will start from May 22 to 23, 2022, and the conduct of elections from May 27 to 29, 2022.

The positions to be contested for are the Regional Chairperson; the first Regional Vice-Chairperson; the Second Regional Vice-Chairperson; the Regional Secretary and the Assistant Regional Secretary.

The rest are the Regional Treasurer; the Regional Organiser; the Regional Women’s Organiser; the Regional Youth Organiser, and Regional Nasara Coordinator.
