It is not true, Ras Mubarak is not causing disunity in Kumbungu NDC, Osman Deen.

Osman Deen, an aide to the former Member of Parliament for Kumbungu Ras Mubarak, has condemned the recent attacks on the former MP by a youth group believed to be members of the NDC in the constituency.

According to him, “it is shocking how some of the NDC youth instead of protecting the image of the party in the area”, rather chose to humiliate the party leadership in the presence of the former President John Dramani Mahama and national executives of the party.

“The action by the youth has created a bad image of the party in the Kumbungu Constituency. Even what the youth did at the chief’s palace was uncalled for. It is forbidden in Dagbon tradition to attack someone at the chief palace,’ Osman stressed.

He said the harassment took place when former President John Dramani Mahama visited the Kumbun-naa’s palace during his recent “Thank You” tour of the region after the 2020 general elections.

The youth justifying their actions, told diamondfmonline, the attack on the former MP, Ras Mubarak was in reaction to his negative attitude towards the party and the constituency executives of the NDC.

Abubakari Abdul Majeed, known as JUUT a member of the group, alleged that Ras Mubarak had spoken against the constituency executives alongside paddling untruth about his successor, Dr Hamza Adam on the use of his resources.

However, speaking to diamondfmline, Osman Deen rubbished the allegations and said “Ras Mubarak is a peace-loving person and will not do anything that will undermine the peace and unity in the party”.

According to him the former MP has been a strong advocate of peace and unity among the NDC, since he lost the party’s primaries in August 2019.

“The allegations against Ras are untrue, he supported and even campaigned for his successor, Dr Hamza Adam during the last elections. He always makes sure he gives the necessary support and respect to our party executives; hence it is unfair for somebody to tag Ras as a bad person and causing disunity within the party”.

Osman Deen called on the youth to seek dialogue whenever there were issues concerning the party, and desist from attacking innocent party members.
