INTERIM MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE OF RTU REVEALED

Following weeks of disagreement about the earlier list of an Interim Management Committee (IMC) to run the affairs of Real Tamale United (RTU) from the board secretary, an agreement has now been reached and a new list emerged last Monday.

The Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the team will now be led by former player and member of the Old Players Association, Alhaji Mahama Saani Abdul Karim (aka Star man) as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Mohammed Alhassan, a lawyer to serve as Management adviser, Mr. Sita Soofo Hisan as Marketing and Development Manager, Mr. Kessie Musah Ibrahim as Finance Manager, Mr. Abdul Rahman Abdul Rashid as an administrator, Mr. Mohammed Baako Alhassan as Public Relations Officer (PRO). The rest are Mr. Mutawakilu Iddrisu George as the Old Players Liaison officer, Mr. Mohammmed Asamoah as Operations Manager, Mr. Issaka Sadik as supporters liaison officer and Mr. Tanko Ibrahim Sayibu as Technical Director cum coach.

The decision was reached on this current list after an emergency meeting of stakeholders of the club at the Regional Co-ordinating Council chaired by the life patron, the Regional Minister, Honourable Salifu Saeed.

The board of directors of the club had initially disagreed on who manages the team for the next season after board secretary Jones Abu Alhassan resleased a five member IMC, a story that was also covered here. However, the list was challenged by some board members notable among them was Alhaji Adam Munkaila (aka Admun).

But for now, insiders at the said emergency stakeholders meeting said the discussions on this new list were cordial and all present endorsed it.

The only problem then was as to whether supporters of the club will give their backing to this IMC.

The members of the IMC were introduced to a section of the supporters on Wednesday at the team’s  on-going justify your inclusion exercise at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium Annex.

Reports say there were no objections as at yet but the dissenting views about the list have come only on the IMC PRO, who many of the supporters say was not faithful enough after he and the erstwhile IMC resigned with nine matches to the end of last season.

It still remains to be seen how the future of the IMC will be like.

Chairman of the IMC , Alhaji Mahama Saani Abdul Karim (Star man) in an interview with Diamond FM’s Yelivuhi Saha Sports anchor, Mohammed Mutaka  said the future was bright and he and the team were poised to give off their best to change the fortunes of the team for the upcoming season.

With all these happenings the season fixtures for the Division One were released last week albeit with no venues but the statement did mention the start date as next coming weekend. The Ghana Football Association’s website had the message “The GFA and the Division One League Board have announced fixtures for the 2017/18 GFA Division One League which is scheduled to kick off on the weekend of February 10th -12th, February, 2018.

This means that the IMC will need the needed support to enable them achieve their set targets. But will they get it? Only time will tell.
