The Assembly member for the Ko-tingli Electoral area in the Tamale metropolis, Razak Mustapha has apologized to mayor of Tamale for endorsing his impeachment.
31 members of the Tamale metropolitan assembly, in an unprecedented move, signed a petition seeking the impeachment of the chief executive officer, Pursuant to Article 243 clause 3(a) of the 1992 constitution and section 20 sub-section 4(a) of the local governance Act, Act 936, 2016.
They among other factors faulted Musah Superior of grossly disrespecting members, as well as awarding contracts under dubious circumstances to party cronies and friends.
This sparked a wave of protest from constituents of most Electoral areas in Tamale, with residents threatening their Assembly members, of similar action taken against them, should their petition, go though.
Residents of Nyohini South,Ko-tingli, Vittin Village, Salamba and many others, issued disclaimers, disapproving the move by their representatives.
But, in a sudden U-Turn, the Assembly Man for Ko-tingli, has pleaded for forgiveness from the mayor, saying he acted out of ignorance.

The letter read in parts “It is much pleasure for me to formally apologize to you for being among those who signed for your impeachment.” It continued”I did it out of ignorance, because of that I withdraw myself. I am therefore seeking your forgiveness.
meanwhile, the mayor has accepted the apology of the Assembly Man for Ko-tingli, Razak Mustapha. in a Facebook post that is currently in circulation, the Mayor Musah Superior is captured, assuring the Assemblyman, his plea has been accepted. ” I4give U”, He stated.
