How much did you contribute towards the National Mosque, Suhuyini questions NCI.

The Member of Parliament for Tamale North Constituency Alhaji Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini is seeking to know the amount of money the office of the National Chief Imam contributed towards the construction and completion of the National Mosques Complex in Accra.

“How much cash did his office contribute towards the National Mosque constructed by the Turkish NGO, Hudai Foundation for Ghanaian Muslims?”, the NDC law maker for Tamale North queried.

This was after the National Chief Imam Dr. Sheikh Osman Nuhu Shaributu made a personal contribution of GHC 50,000 towards the National Cathedral Project.

The National Chief Imam made the donation on Thursday August 26, 2021 when members of the board of trustees of the National Cathedral project called on him at his Old Fadaama private residency in Accra, to congratulate him for the completion of the National Mosques Complex.

Taking to social media, Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini notwithstanding his query commended the National Chief Imam’s decision to contribute towards the National Cathedral Project, and described it as “a very commendable tolerant move by the National Chief Imam”.

A section of Ghanaians has since questioned the decision by the National Chief Imam, Sheik Osman Nuhu Sharubutu to contribute 50, 000 GHC towards the construction of the National Cathedral.

They argued that several Muslim communities across the country lack basic necessitates like portable water, health facilities and schools and it would have been more beneficial if the National Chief Imam had donated to such communities.
