Hardi Mohammed has marked his debut for Karela United by coming off the bench and scoring an 89th-minute goal in a 2-0 victory over Legon Cities on Match Day 4 of the Ghana Premier League.

The former Sankara Nationals FC striker came on in the 70th minute and scored in the 88th minute to double Karela United’s lead.

A goalkeeping error by Legon Cities cost the home side severely as they were punished by Hardi Mohammed who controls the ball nicely at the edge of the box and hit the far corner to seal Karela’s first 3 points of the season.

Hardi Mohammed delivered a crucial performance upon entry that helped the Tamale based side secure the three valuable points away from home.

Throughout the final 3rd of the match, Hadi was a constant threat to Legon Cities FC defense, using his pace and strength to create opportunities. His relentless pressure paid off in the dying moments, as he capitalized on the goalkeeping error to double his side’s lead that eventually secured them victory at regulation time.

It was certainly not the convincing and commanding display newly head coach  James Jimmy Cobblah might have desired to kickstart what is hoped will be a new Karela United era, but a goal from the debutant striker Hardi Mohammed and a clean sheet against Legon Cities brought the platform he craves.

The win pushes Karela United to the 11th position on the league log with 4 points. They will be hosting defending champions Samartex 1996 FC at the Naa Sheriga Sports Centre in Nalerigu on Match Day 5.
