Ghana Water Limited stuns seven other institutions to snatch Diamond Corporate Arena 2026

Ghana Water Limited emerged overall winners of this year’s edition of the Diamond Corporate Arena 2026. The water distribution company came up tops among a total of eight (8) teams that took part in this year’s edition at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale on Saturday, 20th June, 2026. This is the third edition of the games after the inaugural edition in 2024.

Ghana Water Limited took home a total of five (5) trophies from the available pool to take the bragging rights for the next one year.

Participating institutions in this year’s edition included Ghana Water Limited, Bank of Ghana, Samara Company, Glico Life, Bayport Savings and Loans, Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH), NEDCo and Goil PLC.

Events and disciplines competed in included football, sack race, lime and spoon, tag-of-peace, oware, apple eating, playing cards, draughts (checkers), Ludo, Table Tennis, Director’s Challenge, Volleyball and an aerobics session for all participants.

About the Diamond Corporate Arena

The Diamond Corporate Arena is an initiative by Diamond FM aimed at bringing together corporate organisations for a day of fun-filled and competitive games. Beyond recreation, the event promotes team spirit, healthy living and professional networking among participating institutions.

In addition, participating institutions are open to networking opportunities with professionals from diverse organisations, team-building and employee engagement in a relaxed and enjoyable environment and enhanced brand visibility through event publicity, marketing materials and media coverage.

Happenings during the games

When the football competition started, the first games saw Bank of Ghana beat NEDCo 3-1, Glico Life drew 1-1 with Goil but Goil eventually won 2-0 in a penalty shootout. The TTH beat Ghana Water Limited 1-0. Defending champions of the football competition, Bayport Savings and Loans started their title defense by defeating new entrants Samara Company 1-0.

In the semi-finals, Bank of Ghana lost 3-1 on penalties to Goil after a 0-0 scoreline. TTH beat the defending champions Bayport by 1-0 in the other semi-final to set up a final match up between themselves and Goil Plc. In the finals, the new entrants TTH urged out Goil by 1-0 to lift the football trophy at the first time of asking.

At the end of the games, Samara Company, who are producers of Fekko Spray Starch, Sasso Insecticide Mosquito Coil, Sasso Insecticide Mosquito Spray and Kel Charcoal Toothpaste made available some of their products for the planning committee to award to deserving individuals and institutions.

  3. Most fun group/organization- TTH
  4. Samara Company’s favourite organization- Goil Plc
