The Police Administration has with immediate effect, interdicted four Police officers working with the Tamale Regional Police Command following the alleged assault of some persons in Nakpanzoo, near Tamale in the Northern Region.
The incident happened on Monday September 20, but videos of the brutality surfaced online on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
Acting Director general of the Police Public Affairs directorate ACP Kwesi Ofori said “the officers will face the Service Inquiry, subject to the regulations of the Ghana Police Service”.

Meanwhile, the Coalition of youth Groups in Tamale have called on the Interior Minister Hon. Ambrose Dery to cause an immediate investigation into the brutality.
The group described the incident as “an affront to the individual human rights of the victims” and that “if immediate steps are not taken a similar attitude will be put up again and this may degenerate into a serious security matter beyond control”.
