For NPP's 2028 success, Paul Afoko emphasizes the need for unity

Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Paul Afoko, has intensified his nationwide campaign to rebuild and reposition the opposition party, urging members to abandon past grievances and unite to enable the party to return to power in the 2028 general elections.

Addressing constituency executives in Tamale, the former NPP national chairman underscored the importance of unity, discipline, and strategic reforms within the NPP.

He indicated that the party’s future success depends on its ability to overcome internal divisions and focus on rebuilding its structures from the grassroots level.

According to him, the NPP risks missing future opportunities if members continue to dwell on past disagreements and internal conflicts that have characterized sections of the party in recent years.
What happened to the party during the 2024 general elections is not anybody’s fault, it is all our fault. We must unite.

“The NPP must unite and reposition itself to regain power. We need to motivate party members, and a clear strategy that will prepare the party for victory,” he stated.
Mr Afoko emphasized that the NPP must focus on strengthening its internal structures, improving the welfare of party members, and reconnecting with its grassroots support base.

“The party is the machine that will carry somebody to power, and I can assure you as I said, and I told my brother that we will make this machine stronger when I become chairman, we will stop the NDC. We will take power in 2028. Alhaji Mahamud Bawumia will become our president, he said.

The former National Chairman in his remarks also rejected suggestions that the party should sideline his bid to contest the national chairman position on the basis of regional considerations.
