First batch of pilgrims expected to be airlifted to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.

The Ghana Hajj Board in collaboration with Northern Regional Keep fit Clubs Associations (NREKCA), over the weekend organized a health and fitness walk for potential hajj pilgrims in the Tamale metropolis.

This is the third time members of NOREKCA, are collaborating with the hajj board in organizing such health and fitness walk for hajj pilgrims in the northern region. The health walk had the participation of would be pilgrims and was under the patronage of northern regional keep fit clubs association, Salifu Sa-eed.

The participants walked though some principal street of Tamale and ended up at the Tamale jubilee park, addressing the participants after the walk, the northern regional minister who doubles as patron of northern regional keep fit clubs, commended the organizer for initiating such health walk.

According to him, the exercise had sent a signal to this year hajj pilgrims that it is important for them to exercise, in order for them to avoid health difficulties during their stay at the holy land of Mecca

Northern regional minister also called on hajj agents and prospective pilgrims in the northern region to pray for the region and the country at large.

In his speech the northern regional chairman of keep fit clubs association, Alhaji Mohammed Zakariya, urged the pilgrims to be mindful of their diet, as well as the rules and regulation governing this year hajj processes.

He also called on members of the association to continue preaching for peace for the northern region  and the nation at large.

Meanwhile, the First batch of this year pilgrims are expected to be airlifted to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.
