Farouk Aliu Mahama inaugurate more developmental projects in the Yendi constituency
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Yendi constituency in the Northern Region, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has inaugurated several developmental projects in his constituency.
The projects inaugurated include Zakoli Primary School, Nurul Islam School in Yendi, Kunkon Primary School, and a mosque at Wankpang.
The renovation and construction of the mosque were fully funded through the MP’s office valued at GH¢300,000, forms part of the MP’s effort to promote quality education in his constituency.

School children at the beneficiary communities can now learn in a conducive well-furnished classroom for effective teaching and learning after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Yendi lawmaker, handed over the well-furnished facilities with offices to the staff and community members on Tuesday June 14, 2022.

Zakoli, Kunkon and Nurul Islam Schools were ripped off by a rainstorm for the past years and left the schools without an option than to combine classrooms. However, the MP responded to the community members plea and re-roof and renovated the facilities to ensure effective teaching and learning.
According to the community members, the handing over of the facilities would go a long way to address challenges of congestion in the classrooms.
Speaking to Diamondfmonline.com, elders of Zakoli who could not hide their happiness however commended the MP for ensuring the refurbishing and completion of the schools.
They indicated that such a commitment and the zeal to serve the people of the area are positively impacting the lives of people in the area.
Addressing the community members at a separate function, Alhaji Faruck Aliu Mahama indicated that, education is key to every development hence, he has decided to make education a priority as an MP for the betterment of every child in the area.
“Education has proven to be a reliable vehicle for development and the only way we can ensure a bright future for our children is to send them to school”, he said.
He has however encouraged parents within the communities to ensure they enroll their wards into the schools.
Meanwhile, the MP after the handing over also presented over 1000 learning materials including exercise books, pens, and pencils to the authority of the schools to be distributed among the pupils.
