Farmers in the Nakpali-Korili in the Zabzugu District, worry over the bad road network

Farmers in the Nakpali-Korili in the Zabzugu district are calling on the government to construct the feeder linking the community up to the district capital.

Lack of motorable roads according to the farmers, is depriving the area of basic revenue that can be generated from farming.

Located some 30 miles away from the district capital, Nakpali also serves as an alternative route to the Volta region as well as neighboring Togo.

The Farmers end up losing the yam, because they are unable to transport them to the markets due to bad roads.

Baba Nantogma is farmer, revealed to as, with no choice he had to bury hundreds of tubers, which could have gotten in excess of 10,000 cedis, if he had succeeded in carting them to a major market center.

Another farmer, Abdulai Tahiru farmer told us that, life has not really been easy for him and his household, since hundreds of tubers are still locked up under his shed.

Attempts to get the chief to respond to the concerns of the residents, yielded little results as the chief declined to speak with us.

Meanwhile, the Assembly man for the area,abdulai Ibrahim in an interview with diamond news, expressed concerns that attempt to get the district assembly to address their concerns, has not been fruitful.
