Eighth Edition of DDF blood donation exercises ended successfully

The eighth edition of the Diamond FM 2025 Damba festival Blood Donation Exercise ended successfully on Saturday Sept 20, 2025 at the premises of Diamond FM in Tamale.

The exercise, in collaboration with the Rotary, aims to replenish and address the critical blood shortages of the service and the blood banks at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

Held every year during Damba Festivities, the initiative saw listeners of Diamond FM, staff and the public donate blood for the blood bank.

Since its inception, the exercise has successfully collected several units of blood to support patients in need.

This year’s exercise attracted listeners from all walks of life and supporters of the various political parties in the region.

Communicators for the major political parties speaking on Diamond FM lauded the initiative, and called on leaders of the various political parties in the region to adopt the project.

Some of the blood donors spoke about why they chose to take part in the live-saving event organized by Diamond fM.

Mr. Ziblim Adam, who led the team from the Tamale Teaching Hospital, commended Diamond FM for the exercise. Meanwhile, several people have also been registered into the National Health Insurance Scheme.
