Dalhu Empowerment and Human Services organized a day’s sensitization program on ‘Peace’ in Tamale

The Dalhu Empowerment and Humanitarian Services in collaboration with the Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace, as part of activities towards promoting peace in the country, has organized a one-day sensitization peace program dubbed: “THE NEED FOR PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE, THE ROLE OF THE YOUTH IN POLITICS”.

The sensitization peace program aimed at creating awareness among the people in the Northern Region the importance of peace, and the need to maintain it.

The program particularly targeted the vibrant youth engaged in the politics of the country as they play a central role in influencing the stability of the nation.

Participants of the program included various political party leaders, communicators and supporters, media pratitioners, opinion leaders among others.

In his welcome address, Sheikhu Dalhu Abdul-Mumin who is also a leader of the Shia Muslim Community in the Northern Region, urged the youth to be guarded in their political communication and discourse.

He also implores the youth to take responsibility for the maintenance of peace in the country and not to be a reason for its instability. He stressed on the need for mutual tolerance and respect for the achievement of the peaceful coexistence we seek.

Sheikhu Dalhu Abdul-Mumin in his remarks thus charged the participants to be peace ambassadors at their localities and accept growth in diversity.
