Some aggrieved supporters of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Daboya/Mankargu constituency of the Savannah Region, have cross carpet to the ruling new patriotic party (NPP).
The group blames what they describe, as unprecedented disrespect and discrimination brought upon them by the member of parliament of the area and the constituency executives of NDC in the area.
The DCE for North Gonja district and the NPP pc for Daboya/Mankargu constituency, Alhaj Mahama Asei Seini, who welcomed the over 85 members from the main opposition National Democratic Congress NDC in Kuporto in the Dambolto Electoral Area, who have crossed carpet to the Npp fraternity, thanked them for the reasonable decision and the step to salvage themselves and their families from this bad political party.
The leadership of the group Abudu Ibrahim popular called Lion said the Daboya/Mankargu constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress, only engage them during elections period, “they have taken us for granted for so long by using and dumping us”.
According to him, it must take some compelling factors for one to leave a party he has worked for in different capacities and invested his emotions at these crucial times. He also stated that, they have not regretted their actions and they feel more at home than never before.
He said the NPP within their three years in office has implemented several social interventions to alleviate poverty in the Daboya/Mankargu constituency, are some of the cardinal reasons why they have decided to leave the non performing NDC party and joined the development oriented NPP party.
” we have found the NPP very attractive and proactive in the course of developing our constituency”
While recounting the numerous developmental projects they have benefited from the NPP government, including payment of school fees of some of their siblings by the DCE and the NPP candidate, jobs, 1V-1D initiative for the Kuporto community, and construction of a clinic, as some of the reasons they have alienated the NDC
He expressed their revulsion and frustrations at the NDC party for their inability to initiate such developmental project in the Daboya/Mankargu constituency.
“We have also heard the DCE is working hard towards our electricity, and very soon polls will be mounted in Kuporto for the very first time” he stated.
The leader of the group Abudu Ibrahim Lion, recounted his painful experiences for supporting a wrong party (NDC) hoping that nobody will henceforth even remind him of ever been an NDC member before in order to avoid revoking bad energy in him.
At the induction ceremony to welcomes over 85 members from the main opposition party at the Kuporto in the Dambolto Electoral Area, both the District Chief Executive of the North Gonja district Adam Eliasu Red Bawa and the NPP pc of the area Alhaj Mahama Asei Seini, commended the defectors for their bold decision,
Saying the days of supporting a political party for the sake of heart desires and colors are no more relevant, but strictly for both social and personal development.
The NPP pc for Daboya/Mankargu Alhaj Mahama Asei Seini, on his part assured the youth group and the Kuporto community members that, he will continue to do his very best for people in the constituency.
He has however urged the defectors to maintain their support by translating it into valid votes for H.E Akuffo Addo and the NPP pc comes December 7th 2020.
